I've just placed all my components to assemble my first PC from scratch. Before putting everything in, I was considering removing the 8700K and applying Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Thermal Grease Paste to refurbish it.
Is this advised?
Could you share any advice or recommendations?
Before delidding or installing anything, I plan to test it and verify everything works properly just to be safe. From what I know, doing a delid can cancel the warranty.

It does void warranty (obviously) and there are tools to help with delidding
https://www.amazon.com/Rockit-88-Delid-R...B06WVYL61Q
http://der8auer.com/delid-die-mate/ and without them it's pretty dicey.
There are also services that can do it for you for about same price as tools
https://siliconlottery.com/products/delid
https://www.remiscs.com/delid/
For a novice and first timer, there's at least 50-50 chance of ruining it.

If you're okay with losing $350, go ahead. Otherwise, I'd likely start with a few older CPUs.
