Posting pictures to web browsers causes them to grow in size (applies to all browsers, including Windows 10)
Not sure if this should be here or in the programs & apps forum, but its happening with all browsers and so seems to be a windows problem. If I take a screengrab or image and paste it into a browser, the size of that image is increasing. I have set everything (browser/windows/paint) to 100% zoom level / scaling So below, I copy paste the screen grab into paint (1), then copy it into firefox (this was in imgur - 2) and its increased in size. Inspecting the image seems to show its still 612x316 which is the same as paint - copying it back into paint (3) reduces the image size again. This suggests its just a display issue with my computer, however you can see below copying it into a forum post has increased the size, its a 28.6kb image in paint, but 37kb in forum. I sent the image to someone else and if they posted it on the same forum it keeps it at 28.6kb and, most importantly, it appears smaller on the forum when they post it than when I do - so its definitely not something just visual, but is my computer increasing image size when pasted into browser. This is the same in chrome and edge too. For instance a quick screen grab in edge posted back into imgur and you can see the size has increased again I've looked all over and can't find anyone having the same images, and anything vaguely similar just says check your zoom and scaling options. This has been an issue for a couple of years now, so any help would be appreciated. If needed I'm running a 5600x, MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk motherboard, and a 3070. Thanks.
