Remember to set up NTFS-3G for full read/write capabilities. Previously, on macOS, NTFS was only read-only.

Set up Spectacle; it's a tiling interface for OS X. Add Alfred; it functions similarly to Spotlight yet improved. Practice moving around with terminal.app.

It's accurate. I discovered this when attempting to attach the OS X Yosemite dmg file to my hard drive for backup. A friend mentioned Tuxera NTFS for Mac, but I haven't tried it yet.

I didn’t grasp exactly what Smooth Mouse does. For your MacBook, here are some helpful apps you might like:

Tuxera runs on NTFS-3G, though it isn't completely free according to some sources.

Sure, I've got BetterSnapTool, it really simplifies things for me.

Check out Divy at http://mizage.com/divvy/ for the top window manager across all OSes. I use custom shortcuts on certain sizes—it really works well on my UM95, letting me display everything neatly. You can also adjust the dock position to the left or right for more vertical room, which suits my 21:9 setup. Also, note that Notekeeper is worth mentioning at http://notational.net/
