I actually understood that the 5000 series would be revealed earlier, but a month prior I lacked any plan so I had no option but to choose the 3600 instead. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to work or play for an entire month because Lisa su decided to release the 5000 series only after the announcement.
I'm facing the same situation. I set up my system in September knowing new chips are coming soon. My plan was to upgrade once the new ones prove valuable, assuming prices stabilize after release. However, after using the 3600, it's proven to be a strong CPU that meets all my requirements, making an upgrade to the 5000 series unnecessary beyond minor experimentation. In short, if your current CPU delivers solid performance for gaming or work, upgrading isn't essential.
