Hey everyone,
Over the past six months I’ve faced numerous random crashes across various programs, and my entire PC has started failing as well.
Recently I’ve encountered a lot of BSODs while doing everyday tasks.
Here are some examples:
1st BSOD: PC was idle with Brave open
2nd: Just watching Netflix with one tab open
3rd: Right after archiving a folder in WinRAR
The BSOD errors I’ve seen are:
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE
I’m not entirely sure what these mean, but online searches suggest they’re usually linked to memory issues, drivers, or similar problems.
Browser problems:
In Brave (or any Chromium browser), I keep experiencing random site crashes without any reason. The errors I see are:
STATUS_STACK_OVERFLOW
STATUS_BREAKPOINT
I haven’t added any extensions, cleared the cache several times, reinstalled Brave, tried other Chromium versions and... it’s still the same. So I think the issue isn’t with the browser.
I also have problems on Discord. When I type, it crashes randomly and restarts, or sometimes just fails to open at all.
Details about my system:
i9 14900K
ASUS Z790 Formula
Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 (48GB, 2×24GB, 7200 MT/s)
ASUS RTX 4080
Windows 10
I’m trying to determine if the problem is with faulty RAM or something else.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Because you're encountering BSoD messages, please share the .dmp files with us so we can examine them. You should upload these to a service similar to DropBox or comparable platforms.

System details:
Processor: i9 14900K
Display: ASUS Z790 Formula
RAM: Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 (48GB, 2×24GB, 7200 MT/s)
Graphics: ASUS RTX 4080
Operating System: Windows 10

When creating a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide your complete system specifications. List them clearly as follows:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
RAM:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:

Please include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, note the current BIOS version for your motherboard.

I'm attempting to determine if the issue lies with faulty RAM or another component. Consider running memtest 10 and checking for errors.

The model and make of your PSU are usually listed in the system information.
To check RAM, execute memtest86—it operates without using Windows.
If it completes a full test without errors, everything seems fine.
For extra confidence, repeat the process a few more times.
With a 14900K, upgrading your motherboard's BIOS to the latest version is crucial.
This safeguards your CPU from excessive voltage.
Use cpu-Z to verify the BIOS version; it should match version 2001.
