Hello everyone, this is my debut post—sorry if it’s a bit unclear. I just upgraded to a brand new PC, replacing the outdated graphics cards with a fresh build. I transferred my GTX 760 from 2013 into this new setup. It’s functioning well until recently when I tried to play a Valorant game and it crashed, telling me to update my graphics drivers. I checked both the drivers and DirectX, but the problem continues. Recently, I’ve noticed “snow” appearing on all three monitors—chunks of pixels not loading or displaying errors. Sometimes just a few areas, other times the whole screen is affected. I’m starting to worry that my card might be failing after all these years, especially with the current prices making a replacement seem risky. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Specs: GeForce GTX 760 AMD Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B550 Tomahawk 16GB Corsair 3600 MHz RAM PSU - Corsair RM 750
The GTX760 is no longer supported, possibly the GTX600 lineup. This means you won’t receive the newest GeForce updates. The artifacting suggests the GPU is giving up and retiring. If possible, could you verify if it functions properly on another machine?
It seems the 760 uses a different architecture compared to the GTX 750 and GTX 900, which are built on Maxwell. Updated drivers might not be the newest versions. Discolored pixels could indicate a GPU RAM issue. I suggest lowering the RAM speed to check if it enhances performance.
