I'm facing extremely long BIOS startup times after setting up my PC. It started around 20 seconds, but it keeps increasing. After three months, it reached about 24 seconds, which feels quite high. Even at 20 seconds it seems excessive. I haven't made any major changes in the BIOS settings—no overclocking and nothing special. I just enabled ErP mode to avoid dimming my Stream Deck and turned on SVM for virtual machines. Could anyone suggest what might be causing this issue?
I'm also curious about this. A few of these new x570 boards show extremely long BIOS times. Mine runs just like yours with a 3700x and Asrock X570 Pro4. This tends to come up in reviews for these boards. Others have updated their BIOS which seems to ease the problem, so it might be worth looking into any available updates you could need. I'm currently using the latest version and still experience a similar startup time as someone with an HDD...
It seems everything appears normal. Larger, more stable motherboards may take longer to boot. Are there any external devices like external hard drives, USB sticks, or phones connected besides internal ones? Those could be causing delays.
It's typical for Ryzen systems to load slower than Intel ones. Intel boots up CPU, RAM, GPU, and then the device before proceeding. As a SOC, Ryzen must initialize AGESA first, adding an extra step that slows things down and increases chances of errors.
Basic ideas: 1. Unusual USB gadget 2. Failing storage drive 3. Excessive devices running at startup or just normal usage
It's good to know similar issues are resolved for others. I'll double-check my BIOS settings.
