The configuration: Motherboard model Asus Tuf Gaming X670E-Plus, RAM from Corsair Vengeance (2x16GB DDR5 6400MHz), CPU is Amd Ryzen 9 7900X. The issue arises from checking the support page—maximum supported speed listed is 6000MHz, while my RAM is 6400MHz. Other slower RAM options appear supported. I’m about to assemble the PC and don’t have any other DDR5 memory. Will the RAM function at a lower speed or won’t it work at all? Any advice would be appreciated.

It should be noted that XMP won<|pad|> can likely not help. A 6000MT/s performance is the highest achievable from a Ryzen 7000 series CPU.

This makes sense. The specifications on AMD's site show 5200MHz as the fastest supported speed. Does Intel currently offer similar speeds? Are they leading CPU manufacturers in this area, or will support appear in future models? Corsair already supports up to 7200MHz RAM right now.

It's accurate that the spec is intended for return merchandise authorization, meaning if it doesn't reach 5200MT/s you shouldn't file a return. Intel matches this, though the 13th generation only officially supports 5600MT/s, even if they occasionally hit higher speeds. Intel's IMC outperforms AMD's in this regard. I've seen 8600MT/s and even higher on my 13700K, but speeds over 7000MT/s can be inconsistent.

It did post and the RAM was configured at 4800MHz by default.

It looks like you're aiming for a specific performance level. You'll need to manually adjust the voltages to achieve 6000MT/s, as 6400MT/s is typically faster than standard CPU capabilities. This manual setup will guide you through configuring the memory kit for optimal speed. You can fine-tune sub-timings if desired, as they can significantly boost performance, though sticking to recommended voltages and primary timings often ensures stability.

This was an excellent suggestion! Applying the settings and timing (some details from my memory) from that video allowed my system to run smoothly at 6000MHz.
