Hey everyone, just wanted to see if I should go through this step by step before wiping everything down. I came home to my upset girlfriend who told me the PC kept crashing while playing a game. The Windows Management Console showed several Nvidia driver issues, so I checked that first. After confirming the problem was there, I made sure Afterburner was set correctly and no overclocking was happening. Once those things were stable, I restarted twice and still couldn’t get into Windows. The screen after the BIOS splash had 9 blue dots in the lower left corner. That’s weird! I’m starting to think something’s seriously wrong.

Did you attempt to start using the integrated graphics card instead of the Intel CPU? It’s likely your Windows switched to iGPU because the GPU kept failing.

Yeh, thought about that but MSI in their infinite wisdom decided to leave out an HDMI or DP port on their MSI MEG Z390 Ace! The PC isn't crashing as numlock and scroll lock respond with the keyboard light switching on and off. Mobo temp leds are also working as they should. After whizzing through the various codes, a successful boot shows CPU temp which it does. I'm pretty sure the PC is booting correctly to the Windows login screen, just no display as the GPU is dying the moment Windows starts to boot. I just tried plugging the PC into another screen (this time with DP) and same. Screen goes blank the moment the BIOS splash screen vanishes.

If your monitor is connected to your GPU and you're seeing a splash screen in BIOS, it means your GPU is working. It seems your Windows might be damaged from repeated crashes. Try booting from a USB drive and checking if the BIOS screen disappears. Using a Windows installation USB or an Ubuntu live USB could help resolve the issue. Good luck!

The BIOS splash disappears and the screen goes dark right away. I've been able to boot from a Windows USB, but I never reach the installer. Occasionally I get a desktop, but once I load the GPU it shows a black screen.

If you access the BIOS, attempt to reset the CMOS settings. You might also disconnect all storage devices from your machine. After these steps, the system should start and display a warning indicating no bootable drives were detected.
