Ports on the motherboard experience unstable connections.
I've observed a recent issue with my motherboard's USB ports not detecting peripherals like headphones or keyboards. When I connect the device, Windows shows no response. Switching ports occasionally resolves the problem, but sometimes none of them work consistently. It feels like a random game of chance—sometimes everything functions perfectly. I'm finding it increasingly annoying, especially when I need to be quick. I've tried updating drivers, checking the Device Manager, and looking for BIOS settings related to USB, but nothing has changed. My system runs Windows 10 x64 on an Intel/Nvidia-based setup, with a new motherboard from 2014. No overclocking has been done, and all components are stock. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Ensure the cables are properly placed and verify all pins remain straight
There are actually several versions ahead of the latest one. I've heard tales about PCs getting damaged after a BIOS flash, and I haven't done it myself, so I'm cautious. Still, if my fix depends on that update, I have no choice. I plan to update this weekend and share my results in the thread. Thanks. The pins are secure and cables are tight. I'll attempt the BIOS update and wish I could avoid mistakes. Thanks.
Last updated...so far the issue hasn't come back. It's been about 48 hours, so the real challenge is how long it'll last. Probably just a simple update. Thanks.
