I've been enjoying Portal, but lately it freezes whenever I load a new level. I need to press Ctrl+Alt+Del, open Task Manager, and use Alt+Tab a few times. Once the cursor appears, I can navigate back and the game runs smoothly for about ten minutes or so. Still, it's becoming quite frustrating.

Freezing during loading is quite typical in source games. It's frustrating, but aside from upgrading to an SSD, there aren't many other solutions.

It's not a super long game. I think I can handle it. If anyone has ideas for solving this issue for others in the future, that would be really appreciated!
