I recently upgraded my PC with a new B450M motherboard, Ryzen 7 processor, NVMe drive, and an RTX 1060 graphics card. The old case now holds a 450W power supply, an older SSD, and a hard drive. I installed Windows 10 on the NVMe drive and everything functions well until launching the iRacing driving simulator. I'm using an Oculus Rift for both gaming and as a microphone input device.
In over 90% of cases, the microphone stops working during gameplay and in Discord. It may work briefly before stopping abruptly. Windows settings list the microphone as present, but the volume bar remains stuck. My connected steering wheel USB also starts malfunctioning and pulls in one direction.
I've updated drivers, reinstalled the game and Discord, but nothing resolves the issue. The BIOS is now at the latest version. Are there tools available to test the USB controller or the entire motherboard? Should I explore alternatives besides replacing the motherboard? Would it help to create a simpler reproduction of this problem for easier diagnosis by a service technician?
