I'm struggling with my new PC setup. The TUF gaming Z690-plus WIFI motherboard has all four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports non-functional, while others like USB 3.2 Gen2 and the case port work fine. After resetting BIOS and updating drivers, the USB function restarted but failed again when I restarted the computer. The Universal Serial Bus Controller reported an unknown device with error code 43. When I reset the BIOS it disappeared and turned into a universal hub, but after restarting the PC the hub reappeared and the USB ports went back to non-functional state. I also tried reinstalling the drivers, but that didn't help. It's unclear if the issue is with my motherboard or something else.

Have you refreshed your Windows? Have you saved and set up the software from ASUS? Did you use the Intel Driver and Support Assistant? Updated on December 1, 2023 by leclod

It looks like a motherboard issue. You didn’t need any extra steps to make the built-in USB ports function properly.

Yes, it seems there might be an issue with the interaction between your hardware, drivers, and BIOS. Updating or rebooting the BIOS often restores the USB functionality until you restart again. Powering off the computer overnight and turning it back on resolves the problem. It appears there could be a conflict that requires driver updates rather than physical changes. I’d suggest checking the latest compatible drivers for your system.
