hello,
psu: Cooler Master - 80 plus standard 230V - mwe white 550
during troubleshooting RAM issues, I attempted to drain residual power by pressing and holding the power button for around 20 seconds. After that, when I pressed the on switch of the PSU, I heard a pop, likely from the PSU itself. I checked the case and PSU thoroughly but didn’t detect any unusual smells. The computer started working normally, and after several restarts, no further problems appeared. Should I worry about potential damage to other components? Would it be wise to have it inspected urgently and consider replacing the PSU?
thank you!!

The 'pop' sound might signal a minor electrical discharge or a short-term surge in the power supply unit. Don't be concerned about it. Also, could you tell me the model of the PSU?

Well, it might get even worse. Likely an outdated model, but let me know if everything functions properly.

well i got it 2 years ago, brand new. i just turned it off for a few minutes and restarted it, but i'm still not seeing any signs of trouble. do you think in the worst case, a different component could be damaged?

It seems like you're asking about potential worst-case situations. Could you clarify what you mean by that?

I'm sure about your response since it's functioning smoothly, but I'm starting to feel a bit worried. There might be a problem with one of the PSU parts that could cause further damage to other components such as the HDD, SSD, or GPU.
