I have a GTX 1070, an i5 7600k, and 16gb of RAM. I’m experiencing poor frame rates in some games like Warzone and Battlefield. On Warzone I get 40-55 fps on low settings, while Battlefield 5 gives me 40-60 fps on the same settings. I noticed this problem a few months ago. Before, I had good performance in Warzone, but after buying BF5, my FPS dropped significantly. I’m wondering what might be causing this issue?

Your CPU features 4 cores and 4 processing threads. The BF5 typically performs optimally with 6-8+ cores or 6-8+ threads. Therefore, a CPU offering 4 cores and 8 threads, such as an i7-7700K, would allow games to run significantly smoother compared to a CPU with 4 cores and 4 threads like your i5-7600K.

If any background processes are consuming CPU resources, it will negatively impact game performance since the games are already limited in CPU threads. Additionally, recent updates on Windows or specific games might have introduced changes that are reducing overall performance.

This setup supports a 4-core/thread processor and games that demand high CPU usage, utilizing up to 8-12 threads when possible.
