Specs GPU: rx 5700xt CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 MOBO: ASUS PRIME x570-P/C SM corporate stable model When playing i get fps 'locks' of around 30-40fps, even when looking at the sky. General fps is poor (40-50fps) and there is frequent stuttering when panning the camera. My 1060 build never had these issues and ran overall better. I have been troubleshooting this issue for a few months now, and my issue is extremely specific so I'll get straight into what I've found. (USING SEUS SHADERS, ON MINECRAFT 1.16 , AND MINECRAFT 1.12.2 FOR RL CRAFT MODPACK ) Fps can be stuck between 30-50 at even 2 chunks render distance Optifine is installed Vsync ON 60hz monitor set to display 60hz in monitor settings Tested on all render distances , far ones obviously running the worst but short ones (2 chunks) still can run around 40-50fps WHEN TURNING OFF IN-GAME VSYNC, GAME BOOSTS TO 90-100fps Without in game vsync, screen tearing is unplayable, major stutters too When manually setting framerate in game to 60fps, screen tearing is still there? even when set to 40fps? Friend has identical pc build, from brief testing he appears to have better performance Radeon overlay fluctuated heavily, saying CPU was always around 15% usage and GPU was jumping massively between 20%-90% There are probably some other things i have forgotten to mention. Shoot me as many questions as you want. I will be going offline for the night and will respond to anything tomorrow morning. Thank you.

You're experiencing similar performance issues with your 2070 and i7 9700k, especially in Minecraft due to its Java nature and shader limitations. It seems the RAM settings might need adjustment. In the installation menu, locate the RAM configuration, modify the value (e.g., -Xmx2G) to a higher limit like 4 or 5 depending on your RAM capacity, and ensure both entries match.

I adjusted the settings from 25gigs to 8gig initially, then lowered it further to 32gig before realizing it was too much. People say Java struggles with performance, but I’m confused by how frame rates drop when VSync is enabled and jump back up when it’s off.
