your current setup includes a Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, an NVMe 4090 SSD, an SNAP-850 XSS drive, and a 1000W power supply. I observed that in highly demanding games, FPS drops significantly or the game crashes, especially in Fortnite on performance mode where it barely reaches 250 FPS and frequently falls to 50 every few seconds—making it nearly unplayable. Rust also suffers similarly when loading servers before a crash, with extremely low FPS. On GPU-heavy titles it performs adequately. I haven’t identified any clear cause for the poor performance despite trying everything; usage stays under 15% even during long sessions. The GPU has already failed after heavy use, possibly due to overclocking or stress. I’m considering upgrading to a 7800X3D or 5800X3D but am concerned it might behave the same way. I’m unsure if this will help and would appreciate your advice.

When you're actively boosting performance, reducing the speed slightly in many titles helps maintain stable resource consumption. Since today's games typically run with fewer than 12 cores, lowering the overclock can prevent unnecessary strain.

Check if you're running at higher speeds than standard. Your DDR4 frequency is what you're using. How are your temperatures performing?

Right now the system runs at the default 3.7ghz; higher speeds cause crashes whenever I open any program. My DRM4 is set to 3200mhz, but all four slots are already full. I had to lower it further or risk game failures. The GPU slot seems unstable and the clip no longer clips properly. Upgrading the motherboard, CPU, or RAM would help, though it would be inconvenient. My temperatures stay well below 60°C.

It operates at baseline performance; anything else causes a crash.

Ensure your GPU is fully inserted, allowing complete placement

I tried to move it to its limit, but it barely reacted—just a slight resistance, almost like it would hold on if you applied just a bit more pressure.

You might want to bring your PC to a local shop to test the components on another board. If the CPU is the problem, I’m open to buying it from you at a fair price.
