Poor display quality at lower refresh rates
My setup includes an i5 6600K overclocked to 4.5 ghz with an aftermarket heatsink. I recently purchased an RTX 2060 Super, have 16 GB of RAM, a 144hz Acer G-Sync monitor, and replaced my old 660 GT graphics card. I noticed some frustrating low performance visual issues whenever the frame rate drops below 144 fps (my native refresh rate). Even at around 100 fps or slightly lower, the game appears to run at sub 60 fps with noticeable lag. I've experimented with G-sync and V-sync settings, but they don't resolve the problem. Playing older titles like Starcraft 2 and Sudden Strike 4 causes severe scrolling delays, and newer games such as Chivalry 2 behave similarly. As long as the game maintains 144 fps or a bit lower, I experience extremely poor performance, sometimes dropping to 30 fps despite higher reported FPS numbers. Video drivers are up to date. I removed the CPU overclock attempt without success. Temperatures stay well under 60°C even during heavy load. The monitor is set correctly to 144 Hz and G-sync is active in both fullscreen and windowed modes, as confirmed by the NVIDIA panel. What could be causing this issue?
Restart the graphics drivers using a fresh installation method. If that fails, disable g-sync and adjust v-sync to adaptive.
