Not unless there are too many barriers in the path. My primary connection is in one part of the house, and I maintain around 70-100Mb/s on the other side at a higher level. There are multiple obstacles along the way, but performance remains stable.

It implies the router is too distant from the device, since current equipment should handle such speeds well when conditions are favorable. If this is true, moving to a 5GHz band would likely harm performance.
