I own an Aorus Z690 master with the i7-12700k and my RAM is DDR5-6000 16 GB DIMMs. It only functions in dual-channel with two sticks, but when I install all four it reaches 64 GB and just fails to boot. The BIOS stays stuck on the DRAM start-up phase, then the PC shuts down and the DRAM light remains lit. Restarting works fine with just two DIMMs, launching Windows 10.

Specs: Z690 AORUS Master Mobo, EVGA FTW3 RTX 3090, Intel Core i7-12700kf, ROG 360m AIO, GSKill Trident Z5 DDR5-6000 64 GB (4x16), Be Quiet! 1500W 80+ titanium PSU, 6 TB M.2 (3x Samsung SSD 980), ASUS Tuf Gaming GT501 Case.

Please reply quickly.

Have you made any changes to the bios? It might help if they were updated.

Did you verify each RAM module separately and check the slots for any problems? There could be concerns about clock speed—especially with the new Intel chips and DDR5. It might help to lower the speed or enable XMP while using all four sticks together.

He mentioned a recent video discussing how the 12th generation struggles with all four DDR5 slots when packed with faster dimms. I’m checking for any BIOS updates.

Enhancing the bios may boost memory compatibility. Consider turning off XMP in the bios settings. Verify each RAM stick functions correctly within the system.

Join the discussions here! Finding a BIOS update takes minimal time. After that, verify every stick and slot to confirm everything functions properly.

Consider using a different cr2032 battery (I haven’t found a compatible motherboard) and power it on without any RAM installed. Wait until the system fails to boot, then power it off, reinstall the RAM, and restart again. This approach didn’t appear in the guidance you received.

Yes, each of the four sticks functions on its own. The issue arises only when using all four together, as it works fine with two sticks in dual-channel mode. However, powering it off and putting all four in still prevents booting, even through BIOS.

Confirmed the individual sticks function properly, but a pair works. At four units, the system fails to boot. If XMP remains off, the boot process continues. Your BIOS seems outdated—please verify updates.
