Hello, I’m seeking advice on a notebook that fits my requirements. I have an old W550S model, around ten years old, with a 2-3GHz processor. Most of the time it runs slower than expected, and I’m comparing it to newer laptops that are more expensive but faster. I’m unsure which one would be the right choice, so I don’t want to make a mistake.

I’ve tried formatting and reinstalling the system, but it’s still slow. Is there a user-friendly tool available to test the notebook components and identify the slow parts? Also, should I keep using it or switch?

My main needs are:
- Ability to run many open applications (10+) simultaneously
- Office tasks: a few Excel files with millions of records, counting, formulas, VBA macros
- A couple of word processors with around 20 sites each
- Basic picture and text editor
- Chrome with over 20 tabs open
- Additional office apps like PowerPoint, Visio, and smaller programs
- Graphics-heavy games – I have a desktop PC for gaming, so I can play only basic ones when I have free time
- Two external monitors
- Occasional travel
- Strong emphasis on application speed, no lag, and faster performance if possible

Display level 15.6 is acceptable; a higher number is better but I’ll choose 15.6 if needed.

I’m looking for options in the Czech market (https://notebooky.heureka.cz/…), but I feel Newegg might offer newer and cheaper models, so I might consider buying from abroad.

Thank you.

Many applications running at the same time require a lot of RAM. You need at least 32GB. For your needs, think about getting a desktop instead of a laptop. The performance and cost are significantly better for a desktop than a laptop.

Yes, I already have a good desktop PC to handle it, but I still need a notebook since I'm traveling.
