I've been using Discord DMed and received a warning about my Steam account being banned for scamming or duping. I don't want my account to be blocked. The Discord handle is Brandon1 #0239, and he sent some gifs which I've included here. He's asking me to log out of Steam so he can link my account to Valve's database.

The gifs appear to fail embedding, especially on my end. If Steam banned you for violating their terms, they’d send a message via the email on your Steam profile. Block this individual and proceed.

I always value a touch of playful banter, but it should only happen when done safely to avoid any risks for your account. Since OP haar has been compromised before, I wouldn’t suggest engaging in such actions. So, save your time and stay safe.

Valve is completely unaware of your username or password, so they wouldn't need to ask. They already possess those details, making any request unnecessary. Using their own chat or third-party platforms like Discord or WhatsApp is a lie—they wouldn’t interact with them in that way. If someone claims to be from Valve via their chat, it’s a deception. Banning your account would only make sense if it wasn’t in their records at all.
