Playthrough interruptions in GTA 5
You're experiencing inconsistent FPS in GTA 5, with spikes and drops. This could be due to system load, graphics settings, or background processes. Checking resource usage and adjusting settings might help stabilize performance.
Track your system performance, including CPU, HDD, SSD, VRAM, RAM, GPU. You'll see frame rates and timing data to help identify issues.
You're wearing an owl mask while playing GTA Online. It's normal to notice fps fluctuations in the game. More players in the lobby usually cause a drop in frame rate. Your internet connection or hardware won't fix this, but adjusting your graphics can help. Reducing unnecessary graphic quality will generally improve stability and raise your average fps. If you're not using the highest resolution, tweaking a few settings might help—especially MSAA or TXAA. These settings are typically optimized for 1440p and above, with x4 offering a noticeable boost over x2. If you prefer 1080p, you might not need changes unless you're aiming for higher performance.
In those games, when gunfire or smoke appears and the performance is sluggish, I recommend reducing graphics settings. Particularly if most options are set to High or Ultra. You also noted your CPU is frequently reaching its limit, which often points to a hardware limitation. Adjusting graphics should be your first attempt to resolve the problem. Lower everything to Low and check if gameplay improves—then you can confirm the cause. It doesn’t mean you must keep settings at Low; just increase the values that don’t affect frame rate. Results differ across titles. If you’d like to share your Rainbow Six Siege settings, let me know. I’ve adjusted them significantly for my system and achieve solid FPS without fully lowering everything.
