Playing Valorant on a RTX 3080 with an AMD 3900X causes low frame rates.
From the title, it’s clear you’re experiencing low frame rates in Valorant on your PC. Despite being a high-end machine, you’re seeing much lower performance than expected. I checked various online solutions including a fresh Windows setup, but nothing improved the situation. Streaming the game occasionally shows higher FPS numbers, which is confusing since your older laptop with a 1070mHz and 6700Hz clock speed previously handled more frames during streaming. Could you share more details about your hardware or recent changes?
It's okay if you're not streaming. Please share your current stream preferences. Do you prefer using the CPU or GPU for your stream?
Check if your RAM operates in dual-channel configuration. Have you removed existing drivers using DDU and replaced them with fresh ones? Ensure your CPU or GPU is functioning optimally without any performance limitations.
My RAM is 2/4, so yes. I haven’t removed drivers yet, but this problem has been ongoing for about 6-7 months. I’m not sure where to get help, and my CPU/GPU might be throttling. Some friends suggested it could be a bottleneck issue, but I’m not sure how to confirm that.
Are they placed in the proper positions? Having two RAM sticks doesn't guarantee dual-channel performance if they're not in the correct slots.
I'll share my gaming stats soon! My setup includes: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X at 3.8GHz (up to 4.7GHz turbo), 12 cores, 24 threads, 64MB cache. AM4 build. Asus ROG STRIX X570-F with 4666+ MHz DDR4, M.2 SSD, USB 3.2 Gen2, RGB lighting, ATX case. Corsair DDR4 32GB at 3600MHz, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC with 10GB GDDR6X, WD 2TB NVMe SSD at 5400RPM. Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB NVMe, Corsair Hydro Serisi H100X cooling, and Acer KG241QS 23.6" display at 165Hz.
