Hello everyone, I’m facing a tricky issue that’s really puzzling me. I mainly play Apex Legends on WZ 2.0, but it also runs on the 2.0 version. My setup includes an Asus Tuf B450 M Plus with a Ryzen 7 2700 (not X), a Zotac RTX 2080 (not very powerful), two 8GB DDR4 3200 MHz Corsair Vengeance SSDs (with DOCP), a Samsung 970 EVO Plus, a sesonic Gold PSU, and a 750W monitor. My monitor is a 60Hz HP 1080p with DP connection. The CPU and GPU temperatures stay below 85°C.
The problem occurs when I play Apex Legends at 1080p using the lowest quality settings, no VSync, and NVIDIA Reflex disabled. Despite this, I consistently see under 120fps, and there are occasional stutters lasting about half a second. This disrupts my experience, even though I believe it should run smoothly with my hardware and settings.
I’ve tried using DDU Unistaller, reinstalled graphics drivers, kept Windows updated (Windows 10 Pro), and recently did a fresh OS install—only updating drivers and the Apex game itself. Even after reassembling everything carefully, the issue persists. I’m unsure what else I should try. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and keep the good vibes going! Checking for a BIOS update and installing the newest drivers for your Asus B450m. Is the FTPM feature turned on?
I remember hearing about issues with more than 190 fps in Apex causing minor stutters back then. It seems those problems should have been fixed recently.
Check the frequency settings for your monitor if the game isn't displaying correctly.
I just tested but nothing changed. I believe the issue lies with the motherboard BIOS. On the Asus product page they mention: "TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING BIOS 3802 Versão 3802 10.81 MB 2022/05/12". They also say: "Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.7" and "Fix AMD fTPM issue causes random stuttering." After downloading the file, I received version 3802 but the date shows 2022/04/28.
