Playing games with occasional delays but stable internet speed
Over the last couple of weeks I've faced this problem where at the start of matches in both R6 Siege and CSGO I experience heavy lag, even though I can still use Discord or stream Netflix without issues. On R6 Siege I see a red plug icon and a yellow FPS icon. I've reached out to my ISP, Steam, and Ubisoft but none could resolve the issue. I've attempted port forwarding to both Steam and Ubisoft servers, tried various Ethernet cables, wireless connections, system formatting, and reinstalled games—nothing helped. I'm really in need of assistance. Anyone have suggestions or ideas that might work? The only way to reconnect is either fully closing Steam (which sometimes fails) or restarting the PC. Current specs: Mobo: Asus TUF B450M Pro, GPU: Asus Turbo 1080 Ti, CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 @ stock, RAM: 2x8 GB Vengeance 3000MHz, PSU: 700W 80+. Games are on an SSD at 25Mbit. I've recorded the CSGO lag moments and added them as a video. Edit 2: Added CSGO console output during lag Counter-Strike__Global_Offensive_2020-10-01_20-38-26.mp4 Edited October 1, 2020 by yasincengiz
It's strange how my friends can hear me on Discord. I can use Alt+Tab to watch YouTube without issues. I've tested both wireless and Ethernet, but Ethernet works best for me.
Background Notes 1) No apparent internet issues detected. 2) Multiple apps can run together smoothly. Try checking your GPU temperatures and resource usage while experiencing the problem—it might just be the first frame of the environment loading causing early lag. Also, look into the Windows Event Viewer for any system warnings.
Pressing alt and opening it works without issues. I'm testing whether the problem lies with my connection.
