Running games like SWTOR, WOW, ESO, and Guild Wars 2 on a 4G/LTE connection? It should work smoothly without lag.

It varies greatly depending on the area. There are too many factors to provide a one-size-fits-all response, except perhaps it might help.

Also, without an unlimited plan, you're likely to consume data at an excessive rate.

I disagree, I played WoW on 4G/LTE and it was not chewing much data. The experience is acceptable, but it really depends on the coverage of your area, and on possible congestions. That being said, I would definitely not recommend using a cellular network as a permanent solution.

Sure, 4G performs flawlessly without any delay. Of course, it varies based on your area and connection quality, but with a strong signal you’ll face no issues. It’s especially smooth for MMOs since they’re more tolerant than quick-paced titles like COD. In short, you won’t encounter any trouble. Someone claimed data usage would explode, but that’s not true—online gaming actually uses minimal bandwidth. You can easily last a month playing daily for over eight hours on a 40GB plan. This comes from someone who regularly uses a 4G router while traveling.

Your parents reside in an urban area with an LTE router, so streaming should work fine. However, you might feel a bit annoyed with shooter titles like CS:GO. In MMOs, strong signal strength usually prevents issues. Keep in mind that connections can occasionally drop unexpectedly. For better reliability, you could explore radio internet if you're located outside the city.

I connected my phone via LTE last week while streaming Overwatch, and everything functioned smoothly without any delays. Of course, the timing was around 2 a.m., when network traffic was minimal.

It depends on the time of day and signal quality. As long as you're just playing the game and not installing any updates, it shouldn't drain your data quickly.

It might function nicely, though many factors come into play. Others pointed out it really relies on a lot of variables. In fact, games don’t require much bandwidth. The main concern is speed.
