Hello, you're planning to assemble a gaming PC on a budget using Linux. I'm curious if there are any challenges or downsides to playing with Linux versus Windows. Also, do you have any suggestions for websites that help compare hardware options for OS X? Additionally, you're interested in exploring the possibility of creating a hackintosh setup.

If finances are the main priority, Windows 10 is available for 20 to 35 dollars with genuine licenses, while Windows 7 can be even more affordable. Please note this information comes with a disclaimer: I do not support piracy or encourage infringement of intellectual property rights, including those of Microsoft.

Yes, you can run games on Linux, though many are designed specifically for Windows. You might use tools such as "PlayOnLinux" or "Wine," but results aren't always consistent and performance may differ significantly from a Windows PC. Personally, I prefer Linux, but I wouldn’t recommend it for gaming, especially since you can easily get Windows 7 Pro keys for around $15 on Amazon.

It conveys uncertainty. Linux assistance is unreliable, possibly ineffective.

There are nearly a thousand entries, but only a fraction belong to the top ranks. Among them, a smaller percentage truly perform well beyond just basic functionality. This analysis ignores the situation where major GPU makers lack drivers for many of their latest chips.
