using a smartphone (android) with a mouse and keyboard, both on the same network as a phone and pc. it isn't the smoothest, but it functions.
some of these kinds of apps vary in performance—some are slower than others, so worth testing.

any extension beyond 14 feet is unlikely to function properly. Therefore, a wireless option (excluding Bluetooth) or a dongle is the most effective choice.
