I’m searching for the optimal solution and suitable equipment. As you mentioned, game streaming latency is a major issue. Moonlight appears to be the top choice for me. However, my PC is roughly 20 meters away from my lounge, and there’s a Cat6 cable connecting them. The latency remains low. My wife probably won’t even notice; it feels like using your PC on a TV without enabling game mode for you. The device I’ve found works best for the lowest latency is my Note 9, using USB to HDMI and connecting an Ethernet cable. It’s a bit disappointing. I’ve tested several alternatives, but the one with the fastest connection is still the wired option. Even with 5Gbps Wi-Fi, it outperforms a hardwired setup. Maybe the Bluetooth support matters—your controller needs to link and then transmit data to the PC, which could add some delay. I really hope someone can set up a video call using a fiber connection at home for minimal latency on a device with a 1000Mbps Ethernet port. Obviously, if the equipment or installation is too costly, having a second PC in the lounge might be the only option. I own a 3080 right now, but I just want to use it on my 4K TV with the least possible lag!

The delay you're seeing is likely due to how the video is encoded and decoded, not just the internet connection. Home fiber networks perform similarly to copper at comparable speeds. Many shows display separate times for network, encoding, and decoding. Moonlight might reflect this behavior.

It does display it, though there are unexpected sharp peaks. I don’t understand the cause.

Confirming if it's an encoding or decoding spike, checking interface usage, and identifying the router and switches. If your router only has 10/100 ports, replace them with a gigabit model.

I got a gigabit router. Theres a 20m cat6 running from it to my pc and then a 3m cat 6 running to my device. So there isnt much to go wrong really. It may be a decoding spike but it happens enough to make games unplayable. Moonlight uses special decoding for nvidia cards but tbh i dont know enough about that. But my router shouldnt be a problem. Moonlight has a speed test on it and it seems to max out at 150mbps on the actual test. I dont think it tests higher because the slider maxes out at 150 when you turn up the quality. I cant believe people get better results than me on like 30mbps XD. Ive gone through 2 routers which were both gb routers so i dont think theyd both have the same problem.
