Playing games after boosting the CPU can cause stuttering issues.
I recently upgraded my CPU to a 5700x3d and also purchased a new RAM package because the previous one was missing a stick after it failed. In games, I've observed occasional random stutters. This issue didn't occur with my older CPU or its earlier RAM upgrade. I've already tried swapping the new RAM for the old one without success, along with updating chipset and GPU drivers, clearing CMOS, and re-seating the GPU, but the problem persists. While gaming, I checked HWinfo and Task Manager to track usage and temperatures—everything seemed normal, even the VRM temps. However, there was a slight drop in GPU activity during stutters and a noticeable spike in video encoding (see below). (Ignore the big spike at the end; it happened when I pressed alt+tab in-game.) EDIT: Since the upgrade, watching a YouTube video on my second monitor while playing caused significant stuttering (audio intact, video affected). It doesn't seem linked to the CPU or RAM issues, they appear separate. EDIT 2: I planned to include a video showing the stuttering, but my recording software (Outplayed) captured much more erratic behavior—frozen for at least ten seconds per frame, with audio unaffected. My current setup includes: 5700x3d, 2x16GB RAM, 3200MHZ DDR4, X570 Gaming, 750W power supply. The parts replaced were the 5600 and its 32GB RAM stick.
