I've experienced this problem for a long time. Launching a game works fine initially, but opening another game or closing/reopening the same one causes performance to drop significantly. No clear cause has been identified. It doesn't seem to be related to overheating, as extended gaming sessions don't trigger this issue. My PC appears to be functioning normally, though it seems to impact Steam games more than others. The only solution so far is restarting the computer.

Exit Steam completely until it disappears from the Task Manager, then restart Steam and the affected game. This approach may not resolve the problem but should be much quicker.

It's preferable compared to a full restart, but I still wish it wouldn't occur.

It managed to return at least to normal performance, though. In my situation, it only impacted one game—Destiny 2—but I still thought it was worth sharing my tips.

It's interesting you brought it up, though I don't believe it changes my fate. Like all other games I've played.
