Playing a classic version of the racing game NFS Underground 2.
I consistently experience a single crash in a specific area, and I haven’t been able to determine the cause or find a solution. I've attempted numerous fixes without success, and it appears this issue is isolated to a particular location.
The crash occurs during the Campaign when you receive a sponsor who requests a drag race in the Trainyard. Specifically, the game freezes and crashes to desktop approximately 12.5-13.5 seconds into the race. It seems tied to a branching point in the train yard’s layout, after a turn where it splits into two paths. I understand there may be compatibility problems with the game and Windows 10, but this is the only area where I consistently encounter the problem.
My system specifications are below the minimum requirements for the game:
AMD A6-7310 with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics (4 core 2.0 GHz GPU Type: Radeon R4 series Base frequency (MHz): 800)
8 GB RAM (6.91 usable due to hardware reservations from shared memory)
x64bit Windows 10 Home build 17134.765
Here’s a detailed list of troubleshooting steps I’ve taken:
* Downloaded and installed the 1.2 patch (English) from the NFS Underground 2 website, followed by using a Gamecopyworld crack (as suggested in another post).
* Installed NFSUExtraOptions to adjust lighting levels, suspecting brightness or halo effects might be the cause.
* Modified Speed2.exe to display only one processor using IMAGECFG.exe.
* Manually set Affinity to a single core (C0, C1, C2, or C3) one at a time.
* Reduced in-game graphics settings and resolution, then increased them to test different configurations.
* Applied a Widescreen Patch.
Notable Modifications:
* Music Importer has replaced several tracks, including “Spiders’ Black Betty” with the standard “Black Betty.”
* “Love RAM JAM” is utilized.
* NFS Underground 2 ExtraOptions is installed, although the issue existed prior to its installation.
* The Widescreen Patch is active in both Full Screen and Windowed Mode, with no effect on the crash.
Inform that to the individuals who submitted their experiences; I was adhering to a prior forum guide for assistance ^ Consult: https://forums. I attempted utilizing the initial executable file, but this proved ineffective as I possess the standard version of the game. Following that post, I acquired the Hoodlum version; however, the original executable remains. Demonstrate some basic reasoning—it states “THINGS I HAVE TRIED:” not “WHAT I STARTED WITH.”
