You're playing Rocket League on Epic Games Launcher with an Xbox controller connected via USB. You want to join a local match using split screen and have two joysticks, but you're unsure how to set them up without Steam. Your friend uses Bluetooth-connected joysticks, and you heard that Steam is needed for that setup. Can you find a way to use your joysticks directly in the game without Steam? Thanks!
Just need a controller mapper. There are many available (reWASD, XMapper, etc.). Browse them and pick the one that fits your requirements.
Thank you for the feedback. If you can, I’d prefer a free alternative. XMapper doesn’t seem to have much useful info there—maybe you’re mistaken about it.
It looks like your issue might be coming from a different source. I don’t understand how to set up RL for two players with split screen. Even when you assign one player the Xbox controller and the other the MnK, it seems neither can be activated properly. Please clarify the setup or check the instructions carefully.
)) I opted for BetterJoy instead of XJoy. Your message about XJoy brought back memories of the version I used before. The developers noted that XJoy has problems with analog controls, though I haven't tested it thoroughly to confirm the extent. BetterJoy is no longer supported (EOL) and the required VIGEmBus driver isn't available, which may cause issues on Windows 11. So far it seems to function properly for me. I installed the latest VIGEmBus version (v.1.22.0) rather than the one included with BetterJoy 7.1, possibly making a difference. EDIT: I spoke too quickly. I often lose connection with the controller when using BetterJoy on Windows 11. I'll try XJoy to compare. It appears the newest Xjoy release is from 2019 compared to BetterJoy's 2021 version, and both rely on VIGEmBus. I question whether it would perform better than BetterJoy.
Thanks for your assistance. Now we can enjoy a 2player split-screen on RL
