I purchased Holiday funds to get Quest Pro controllers for use with my Quest 2 headset. The tracking in native apps works well. I noticed the issue begins when connecting the Quest 2 (with pro controllers) to my Steam PC. My system runs an AMD 5900x, has 32 GB RAM, an RTX 3090, and is on Windows 11. The NVME drives are 512 GB and 1 GB respectively. When using Airlink or Virtual Desktop, latency spikes significantly, causing frame rates between 80 and 15 fps in Steam VR games. I’m connected via a Wi-Fi 6 router with only two devices on the same channel. Virtual Desktop reports a speed of 860 Gbps. After reconnecting the controllers, latency drops to single digits and frame rates stabilize at around 90 fps. I haven’t encountered this problem before. Many reviewers praised native tracking, but no one mentioned issues in Steam or Oculus PC VR. It’s puzzling since others seem unaffected. It feels strange that no one else is experiencing this. A search of support forums didn’t turn up any discussion. Could something be wrong with my setup? Or are Quest Pro controllers incompatible with PC VR? I enjoy my Quest 2 and pro controllers, but Steam VR is quite unpleasant. Any advice would be appreciated.
