I assembled a new gaming/workstation setup with specs like xeon e5 1650 3.2 GHz, 12 MB cache, 6 cores, 12 threads, 16 GB RAM, a Sapphire nitro RX 480, and a single Intel Core i3 350M with 2GB RAM and Intel HD graphics. The display was a 1366x786 60 Hz screen. This isn’t meant for gaming, so I planned to bring in my cousin’s old laptop with an Intel Core i3 350M and 2GB RAM. I intended to run Windows 10 on it with 8GB RAM and 6 threads, then use VirtualBox to create a VM. From there, he could control the machine remotely via LAN for games like Minecraft and Overwatch. There were some challenges: I wanted the VM to use half the host’s resources, but I’m unsure how to limit GPU usage in VirtualBox since only VRAM can be adjusted. I also needed guidance on whether to install AMD drivers or guest addition drivers, and whether there are better VM builders that support my requirements. Additionally, I’m looking for the best free remote server options that offer low latency on the same network and support DirectX, Vulkan, and OpenGL versions. Thank you!

The optimal approach involves Hyper-V and remote FX. Hyper-V is a type 1 hypervisor, offering advantages over Virtual Box. You may face restrictions with older games like dx9 and OpenGL versions 2.1, along with only 1GB of VRAM. For streaming at home, Steam is recommended. Unless you invest in a dedicated GPU and run Xen/ESXi, achieving this performance isn't feasible.

I thought you wouldn't be able to use the GPU and required version 2.

The Xeon I purchased included an NVIDIA graphics card, though it's a workstation model. I'm not certain of the exact brand, but since it's a workstation it shouldn't be ideal for gaming. Can I still use it and possibly share another GPU?
