Is there any reason your GTA V isn't playing with sound? You mentioned checking file integrity, reinstalling the game, and updating Direct X. Have you tried anything else? Also, did you play another game that includes audio?

It might seem odd, but have you looked at your volume mixer before beginning the game? You never really know, right?
