Try playing free-to-play games. Warframe is a great choice to begin with. Although I stopped playing most of the time, it was enjoyable for about 500 hours.

Heck yes. Other open games he might like are GMOD sandbox, Terraria, Starbound. PvZ garden warfare would also be good. Find other games which are not on Xbox or PS which he may like. EDIT: Wynncraft is an awesome MMORPG server which I'm sure could get him hooked on PC games! IP: play.WynnCraft.com
