Civilization V is a top pick for you, but be ready for three days onward: Trackmania, Rocket League, Viscera cleanup detail, and The Ship (don’t pay full price—it’s not worth it). OpenTTD, Worms Revolution, keep chatting and nobody explodes (it’s not true multiplayer, but it’s definitely worth a LAN session). In 1404 (the exact year, not later games), Age of Empires II shines. Home improvisation is the only game I’ve played that gets way more fun when you’re in a group.
I find Civ V and OpenTTD enjoyable for their strategic gameplay, while Worms offers hilarious moments.
V is for scenarios where the lan shifts into a gritty urban setting or a religious name battle. I felt a bit uneasy seeing my town renamed to "alcoholism." OpenTTD is for situations aiming for a rigid capitalist worldview, with worms used only when you wish to express dislike.
