Hi Chris,
I see you're experiencing significant ping issues with your network. From what you described, it sounds like there might be too many packets being sent or processed. Since your server uses Ubuntu and you're running a large number of connections, the router (Apple Airport Extreme) and switch (Dell PowerConnect 5324) could be overwhelmed.

Checking the router settings for traffic limits or queue lengths might help. Also, ensure your network interface isn't saturated with too many simultaneous connections. If the problem persists, consider monitoring packet loss and bandwidth usage to pinpoint the exact cause. Let me know if you need further guidance!

We should figure out which component you're turning off that prevents the issue, since this isn't normal behavior.

Hi. Its an OSCam server I run. I connect to lots of proxies. I didn't mention it because I doubt anyone would know what it is. Basically it tries to establish a connection to a bunch of servers constantly. Seems like something is getting overloaded on my network. Something I found strange is that the ping to my switch ,which my PC is directly plugged into, is slightly higher than the ping to my router, which is connected through the switch. I wonder if my network is miss configured? I can believe the router getting overloaded, but not the switch, surely? Cheers Edit: Never mind, this explains the higher ping response of the switch vs the router https://superuser.com/questions/1165871/...ices-on-it Seems like a none issue.
