Hello. I took my CPU off the motherboard to fit a replacement. I saw a pin stuck in one of the socket’s holes without applying any pressure. Can this motherboard be repaired or should I get a new one? Help needed.

Sometimes an electrical link gets damaged, like a duplicate ground, and the chip still starts up even though it might act oddly under certain conditions. Usually it just stops working. I suspect this could be related to a Ryzen PGA. If that’s the case, you can use tweezers and remove the pin from the socket with an anti-static strap. There’s a good chance it was poorly soldered and fell out. While it’s possible to reattach the pin, it’s not straightforward and requires careful handling.
