Pin configuration for Bent LGA1151 socket
Hello! It sounds like you accidentally bent a pin on your LGA1151 MB, but after using a thumbtack, it worked fine and booted into Ubuntu normally. The temperatures were normal, and everything seemed okay. There’s a chance the bent pin could be stuck somewhere inside, which might cause issues later. It’s wise to check it carefully.
If it functions properly, you're fine—just verify the LGA 1151 connector layout. It's possible you've touched a non-data pin such as ground, VCC, or VSS. There are numerous ground or power pins; damaging too many won't stop it from working.
Adjust it gently so it fits properly. Your LGA2011 model should work. If it fails, use tweezers to remove the damaged part—look for a spare ground or similar component. It shouldn’t ignite, but be careful not to connect other pins accidentally.
The computer is already outdated, just for testing purposes. Hope it doesn’t blow up unless it affects nearby things.
