I just put the phantom 120 spirit into my new build. It comes with a Y cable for the two fans, but my motherboard seems to have two CPU fan ports instead of what I expected. Should I use the two ports rather than relying on the Y cable? Just wanted to check with the experts here.

Also, does the order of the fans in each port matter?

without any link to the CPU_FAN header the system is likely to fail booting.
CPU_OPT generally matches the same configurations as CPU_FAN.
this is simply there to simplify setup when using a dual fan cooler.
whether you use a splitter and connect both to the single CPU_FAN header,
or connect each separately to the CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT headers, it shouldn't really matter.
