Hello Community, I’m puzzled about the situation. I swapped my old 6800XT Phantom for a 4080 MSI trio, but now I’m paying the difference. When the GPU was installed, it performed well with stable temperatures. Now it’s overheating—80°C during games and 95°C in the fan. What might have caused this? Could be dust buildup or poor airflow. The solution would likely involve cleaning the GPU and ensuring proper cooling.

He mentioned he was playing Far Cry 6 and Starfield, and the temperatures reached around 80 degrees. I thought that was too high for gaming. It feels unusual since I didn’t experience those heat levels while playing.

80 is all right. The card offers a TJmax of 110°C, meaning he's just 30°C short of reaching the limit.

It's installed in his case with a specific design. The fan placement and orientation matter, and there are fans positioned around it. The case is located near the CPU, which is mounted on a waterblock inside a dual 360 rad loop. The ambient temperature is relatively high, but it still performs well under load. There are other components inside or nearby, and the cooling setup includes both air and possibly liquid cooling depending on the model. The CPU is likely using a combination of air and possibly AIO or loop cooling. The test results show temperatures around 80–95°C, which is within acceptable limits for stability checks. For more accurate GPU testing, consider using software like 3DMark to simulate real-world conditions.
