It's possible to upgrade the CPU. I don't remember if there are any 4C options for the socket. If it has a mini-PCIe Wi-Fi slot, that would work too. Compatibility might vary. Instead of buying this, consider using a used second-generation workstation from Dell or HP—it's more affordable and gives better value.
Or a desktop, if you have one. Try to function with what you possess until then. I’m aware socket G2 models come with quadcores available on eBay, but don’t anticipate strong performance. We’re still focusing on mobile power solutions.
