Personalized Live Installation Media
Personalized Live Installation Media
Approximately two decades ago I developed several tailored Linux CDs for a project. This week I explored how straightforward it is now. It’s remarkably simple, which is why I’ve compiled scripts that streamline the process. You can access them at: https://gitlab.com/customlivecd/customlivecd. The solution supports Debian-based systems (tested on Debian 12). Execute the prerequisites script, modify configuration files, and run the runme.sh script. You may incorporate packages from the repository or .debs sources, such as the Citrix Workspace app, or execute commands directly. A method for adding Virtualbox guest additions is available, though you’ll need to download the files yourself to bypass licensing concerns with Oracle Result. A custom ISO can be created for USB or CD/DVD, containing your files, user credentials, and passwords. Perhaps there are more effective alternatives, but it functions well for me.
