Performing overclocking on an H81M-e I5-4660
So I have an H81M-e MB 8GB ram with an Intel I5-4660 and a PCIe 2GB Nvidia GeForce 750ti.
I want to learn more about overclocking the memory or processor if possible, since there are many settings in the BIOS related to memory, the onboard GPU, and the CPU that I’m not familiar with.
I know enough about the BIOS to have improved boot time and even boosted FPS in some games, but I think the system could perform much better if I could understand more of these settings.
I’m hoping someone can help me find a profile or guide that explains all the relevant options.
The H81 chipset is limited to overclocking the Pentium G3258 only. It isn't designed as a true overclocking chipset, though an exception exists for the anniversary version of the Pentium G3258, which is unlocked. Generally, you shouldn't attempt overclocking on it, and even then, the i5-4460 can't be overclocked due to its locked multiplier. K-series Intel CPUs support unlocked multipliers for overclocking, while a Z-series chipset is necessary for Z-series processors.
