Hello, I just made some BIOS updates and swapped my CPU. Previously I was using Windows 11 home (retail), but now activation isn't working. ChatGPT suggested entering a code via CMD, which changed the version to Windows 11 Pro, but that didn’t help either. Can you get some guidance? Edited February 22, 2025 – Key removed

You just bought a fresh CD key and everything is working properly. No issues detected. Updated on February 22, 2025 by Needfuldoer.

You likely had a valid retail Windows 11 Home license that could be reactivated. (OEM keys are linked to devices, retail keys aren't.) If you started with a low-quality key, it might have been removed from Microsoft's database. I excluded the Windows reference from your message. Don't rely on ChatGPT for this. Switching to Windows 11 Pro now means you require a Pro license. The "key" provided is probably only for an in-place upgrade or testing, and at most it reflects typical search results. Currently, AI isn't reliable for technical support.
