Hey, I’m dealing with stutters and micro-stutters consistently. They show up in every competitive game I play—CS2, R6, OW2, Fortnite, MechAmmo. In League of Legends it’s only 1% but no noticeable lag. Using RivaTuner reveals my 1% stays near 150fps, while 0.1% drops below 80fps. That’s still decent, but not ideal when your average is 300-400 fps on a 240Hz monitor. I notice my FPS dips and the game feels sluggish, pushing me out at times.
Here’s what I’ve tried:
- Ryzen 7 7700 (non-x)
- X670E PG Lightning
- 2x16 KF560C36BBEK2-32 (6000MHz 30-36-36-48 1.35v)
- MPG A1000G PCIE5
- 4070 WINDFORCE 2X OC 12G
- 990 PRO - M2 (2TB)
- A400 - SATA (480GB)
- GP-GSM2 - M2 (256GB)
I attempted fixes like:
- Reinstalling Windows (full wipe)
- Updating/reinstalling drivers
- Adjusting system settings (Defender, Bloat, Game settings)
- Disabling game FPS limits and capping them
- Using different disks and partitions
- Tweaking Power Options, GPU settings, and display options
- Enabling/disabling features like G-sync, variable refresh rate, etc.
- Checking RAM stability, CPU clocks, and memory context
Despite these changes, the pattern remains: lower clock speeds cause more stuttering in CS2, Fortnite, and LoL. I’m still unsure what’s truly causing it—some games seem worse than others, and even upgrading to a 1050Ti didn’t fix the issue completely.
Other tweaks I experimented with:
- XHCI Hand-off
- USB mass storage support
- On-board HD-Audio
- AVX 512
- NX Mode
- PSS Support
- Core performance boost
- SMEE
- SR-IOV
- PCIE power management
- Suspend to RAM
- Df C-states
- GPU host translation cache
- Pluton security processor
- DRM support
- SoC/Uncore OC Mode
If you have any advice or want to try more settings, let me know!
It might be due to a faulty chipset in the GPU. If switching to an older model resolved the issue and the problem isn’t related to software (drivers, OS, or installation), have you verified the GPU’s lane speed? Could it be operating below 16 frames per second? I had a similar situation with a 2080 a few years back—it worked in double mode.
Hi, thanks for the update! Regarding GPU placement, my system is outside the PC case, which keeps the GPU upright. According to GPU-Z and HWinfo, its PCIe speed is 16 Gb and PCIe 4. When using RivaTuner, it remains at 16 GB during games as well. I didn’t mention adjusting the PCIe generation to check for any impact—tried Gen3 then Gen2, but it didn’t change.
