My Dota 2 game consistently hovers between 45 and 50 frames per second, despite my efforts. I’ve attached screenshots from CPU-Z and GPU-Z while the game is running: https://imgur.com/a/DrR8TF9 and https://imgur.com/a/b04C6bh. Regardless of whether I set the graphics to maximum or minimum, the game consistently remains below 50 FPS, occasionally spiking up to 55. I’ve ensured every visual setting is identical, yet the frame rate remains constant across all configurations. My Nvidia power management mode is set to “Prefer Maximum Performance,” and I’ve disabled Xbox Game Bar and Xbox Game Mode, as well as configuring Windows Power Settings to “Performance.” Path of Exile runs smoothly on the same system, and matching Nvidia Control Panel settings from PoE to Dota 2 didn't resolve the issue. I’m usually adept at troubleshooting technical problems, however, this situation is perplexing me.

I achieved 58 FPS with the lowest settings. The game’s frame rate is capped at 150fps. My hardware includes a Ryzen 5 1600x, a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a B350 Tomahawk motherboard. I tested the game on another system featuring an FX 6300 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1050, which consistently delivered over 100 FPS – despite significantly inferior hardware. It seems like a specific software or setting is impacting Dota 2’s performance, beyond my adjustment of the Nvidia Control Panel and Windows Power Settings. I'm struggling to identify any other potential causes for this issue. Why would the frames remain so stable when I play at 720p with low graphics and 1080p with maximum settings?

Resolved this issue. To anyone accessing this information from Google in the future:

I addressed it by experimenting with audio playback configurations within both Windows and game settings. Verify that your sound device is accurately linked to your speaker setup in Dota 2’s audio settings. Specifically, if you are using headphones, confirm that your speaker configuration is set to “headphones” and not a default or alternative setting. An inconsistency in this area frequently results in significant performance drops. Best regards.
